Dr Peacock – Trip To Valhalla

(FR) « Je suis Dr Peacock depuis son album « Trip To Worldwide » (qui restera, selon moi, la pièce maîtresse ultime de sa carrière) et je peux vous dire que chaque nouveau morceau sorti me rappelle cette époque où l’on pouvait encore danser et se dévergonder le temps d’un Frenchcore S’il Vous Plaît au Club Rodenburg à Beesd, où le célèbre Trip To Ireland résonnait à fond entre la scène Terrorcore et la scène Frenchcore. Mais revenons à notre époque et parlons du nouveau morceau de Peacock, Trip To Valhalla. Après un album « Acid Bomb » très bon mais qui ne m’a pas entièrement marqué et quelques bons morceaux (Pyramid, Irish Banger) voire de très bons morceaux (Psychedelic Spin, Tri Martolod) au cours de ces derniers mois, Trip To Valhalla se place comme un réel écho vers “la bonne époque” dans un univers Viking mélancolique, jonglant entre kicks récents et ambiances anciennes, avec la voix du chanteur qui nous rappelle l’univers du groupe français Skàld ou du musicien danois Danheim. Tout est là pour vous faire voyager aux confins des fjords nordiques à une époque merveilleuse mais sanglante de notre histoire, avec cette touche que Peacock sait mettre à chaque morceau de cette envergure ! »

(EN) “I’ve been following Dr Peacock since his album “Trip To Worldwide” (which is and will be, according to me, the ultimate masterpiece of his career) and I can tell you that for every new track released, it takes me back to an era when we could all dance and lose it on the dancefloor of Frenchcore S’il Vous Plaît at Club Rodenburg in Beesd, with the famous Trip To Ireland loudly banging on the speakers and shaking the walls of both the Terrorcore and Frenchcore stages. But let’s go back to our time and our matter at hands, Peacock’s new track, Trip To Valhalla. After a very good “Acid Bomb” album – although it hasn’t marked me that much – and a few good tracks (Pyramid, Irish Banger) or even some very good tracks (Psychedelic Spin, Tri Martolod) over the past few months; Trip To Valhalla stands out and is seen as a real echo to “the good old times” in a melancholic Viking universe, going from recent kicks to ancient atmospheres, with the singer’s voice which reminds us of the French band Skàld or the Danish musician Danheim. Everything’s there to transport us to the fringes of Nordic fjords in a wondrous yet bloody period of history, with Peacock’s personal touch that only he can bring to a track such as this one!”

Billx & Ti-K-Ry – The Rave

(FR) « Voilà le morceau de Billx que j’attendais ! En début de mois, il a sorti The Rave, un titre PsyTrance / Frenchcore, en collaboration avec Ti-K-Ry. Le Niçois nous rappelle par ce titre qu’on n’arrête pas la fête aussi facilement et que l’amour de la musique réunit toujours les passionnés.
Ce qui me plaît le plus dans The Rave c’est son aspect innovant, ce côté inattendu. Certes, il y a des sonorités similaires aux précédents titres des artistes, ce qui permet de les identifier mais je n’ai pas l’impression d’écouter une fois de plus la même musique. L’enchaînement des différents éléments fait monter la tension musicale et les kicks galopants me font sentir vivante en attendant l’arrivée de plus beaux jours. »

(EN) “That’s the Billx track I’ve been waiting for! Earlier this month, he released The Rave, a PsyTrance/Frenchcore title, in collaboration with Ti-K-Ry. The southern French DJ gives us a reminder that you can’t stop the rave (pun intended) that easily and love for music always reunites passionate people together.
What I like most about The Rave is its innovative and unexpected aspects. Undeniably, there are sonorities similar to previous titles from the artist, which allows the listener to identify them. However, I don’t feel like I’m listening to the same song over and over again. The succession of the different elements just builds up the musical tension and the galloping kicks make me feel alive while waiting for brighter days.”

Nosferatu & Alee – In Hart En Niet
Genre/Music Style: Hardcore

(FR) « Nosferatu est un des piliers du Hardcore hollandais dont la renommée n’est plus à faire. Ce morceau, en collaboration avec Alee, joint le style rap néerlandais du MC avec le puissant Hardcore de Nosferatu.
La date de sortie du morceau n’est pas anodine car ce dernier arrive deux ans après la transplantation de rein du DJ, ce qui permet de réaffirmer à nouveau la place de l’artiste sur le devant de la scène Hard Music.
Plus personnellement, Nosferatu est un DJ que j’affectionne particulièrement de par son style de composition unique, à travers les histoires que ses musiques nous racontent grâce à toutes les différentes notes choisies soigneusement par l’artiste, je pense notamment aux deux excellents titres Sanctity Of Space ainsi que Sanctity Of Space: Cassini’s Journey et comment oublier l’hymne du festival Harmony Of Hardcore (2018) réalisé par cet artiste Unification of Inner Power ! »

(EN) “Nosferatu, whose renown is indisputable, is one of the cornerstone of Dutch Hardcore. This track, in collaboration with Alee, intertwines the MC’s Dutch rap style and Nosferatu’s powerful Hardcore.
The release date of the title is hardly insignificant as the latter arrives two years after the DJ’s kidney transplant, which allows him to reassert his position as a front row artist of the Hard Music scene.
On a more personal note, Nosferatu is a DJ whom I’m particularly fond of, thanks to his unique composition style and through his stories that his tracks tell us thanks to the notes carefully chosen by the artist, namely two excellent tracks in my opinion, which are Sanctity of Space as well as Sanctity Of Space: Cassini’s Journey. And last but not least, let us not forget about the 2018 Harmony of Hardcore anthem Unification Of Inner Power conceived by the artist!”

Maissouille & Tha Watcher – No Regrets

(FR) « C’est avec la plus grande impatience que j’attendais ce titre ! Le morceau Infected Nightmare produit par ces deux artistes tournait déjà en boucle sur ma playlist Spotify ; c’est donc avec une joie non dissimulée que j’ai pu découvrir et savourer la dernière bombe de Maissouille et Tha Watcher !
Les kicks percutants du DJ Frenchcore s’entremêlent parfaitement avec le vocal du MC. No Regrets déborde d’une violente énergie. Aussi, je reste impressionnée devant ce rap, aux paroles incisives et au débit fulgurant, qui donne envie de chanter en chœur. (Bien que, croyez-moi, pour l’avoir tenté, c’est bien plus difficile que ça en a l’air !)
Enfin, le clip de ce morceau ne peut que me rendre nostalgique et me faire vibrer. Ces images ont été captées lors de la Hardcore France Invasion au Warehouse (à Nantes) il y a un an déjà, et cela fait partie des dernières soirées auxquelles j’ai pu assister en 2020. Vivement que l’on retrouve au plus vite ces sensations de liberté ! »

(EN) “I had been waiting for this title with the greatest of impatience! The track Infected Nightmare, produced as well by both artists, was already on repeat mode on my Spotify playlist for a while now; it is then with a hardly conceived happiness that I discovered and savored Maissouille and Tha Watcher’s latest bomb!
Explosive kicks from Frenchcore DJ perfectly intertwine with the MC’s vocal. No Regrets is filled with a violent energy. Furthermore, I am speechless in admiration in front of this rap, marked with incisive lyrics and a dazzling flow, which makes you want to sing along. (Although, you don’t want to do that, believe you me I’ve tried, it’s way harder than it looks!)
Finally, the clip can only make me feel nostalgic all the while invigorated. Some footage were taken from Hardcore France Invasion event at the Warehouse (in Nantes) a year ago, and it is one of the last party I was able to attend to in 2020. May we feel those feelings of freedom back as soon as possible!”

JDX – The Journey Has Ended

(FR) « Après avoir disparu du devant de la scène pendant près de 10 ans, JDX a refait surface en sortant deux morceaux étonnant l’an dernier. Cependant, celui qui a signé Live The Moment (choisie comme meilleure musique Hardstyle de tous les temps) ne s’est jamais tellement éloigné. Il est resté dans l’ombre, produisant de petites merveilles orchestrales pour les Endshows ou les introductions des DJ (voire les hymnes) au sein de Q-Dance. Les titres qu’il a créés pour Qlimax The Source sont édités dans un EP et tout y est : l’émotion, les frissons. The Journey Has Ended assemble ces éléments à la perfection. En fermant les yeux on s’y croirait presque. »

(EN) “After disappearing from the stage for nearly 10 years, JDX is back under the spotlight again, releasing two titles last year. However, the artist who signed Live The Moment (chosen as best Hardstyle track from all times) was never really gone. He stayed in the shadows, producing little orchestral marvels for Endshows or DJ’s intro (even anthems) in the name of Q-Dance. The titles he created for Qlimax The Source are edited in an EP and it’s all there: emotion, chills. The Journey Has Ended put these elements together perfectly. Close your eyes, and it’s just like you’re there.”
