Mad Dog – The Box

(FR) « J’ai été très agréablement surpris quand Mad Dog a annoncé la sortie d’un nouvel EP orienté à 100 % Millennium Hardcore mais je n’en attendais pas moins d’un artiste tel que lui pour relever ce défi. The Box, deuxième morceau de cet EP, est selon moi un très bel hommage à la scène Hardcore des années 2000 (dans la lignée de Obey All Orders) et prend à revers les standards actuels en nous offrant un voyage dans le temps, à une époque où beaucoup d’artistes, devenus incontournables aujourd’hui, ont forgé leurs armes. Un style unique que peu savent faire maintenant mais qui procure un vrai sentiment de nostalgie ! »

(EN) “I was delightfully surprised when Mad Dog announced the release of a new EP, 100% focused on Millenium Hardcore, but I didn’t expect less from an artist such as him and I knew he was up for the challenge. In my opinion, The Box, the second track of this EP, is a tribute to the Hardcore scene of the years 2000 (in line with Obey All Orders) and takes the flipside of nowadays standards by offering us a journey through time, to an era when many artists, who are today emblematic figures of the Hard scene, were at that time still rookies. A unique style that only a few can master these days, but which gives us a true rush of nostalgia!”

(FR) « J’attendais ce titre depuis que j’en ai fait l’expérience en live lors de la dernière édition de Qlimax, parce qu’elle m’a vraiment transcendé et fait voyager dans un autre monde.
Ce que j’aime particulièrement dans ce morceau c’est l’univers sombre et profond que B-Front peut transmettre via sa musique, le tout emmené par des mélodies nostalgiques. Deetox ajoute sa patte en y mettant de l’énergie et du rythme et la collaboration fonctionne très bien.
L’émotion que je ressens à chaque écoute me rappelle pourquoi j’aime ce style de musique.»

(EN) “I had been waiting for this track since I have experienced it live during the last edition of Qlimax, because it has transcended me and made me travel to another world.
What I like most about this music is the dark and profound universe that B-Front can share through his music, all of that wrapped in nostalgic tunes. Deetox brings his own touch by adding energy and rhythm which makes the collaboration work pretty well.”

Sefa & Relianze – Going Under

(FR) « J’ai découvert ce petit prodige au festival Masters Of Hardcore 2017 (The Skull of Dynasty) et depuis je ne l’ai plus JA-MAIS lâché ! J’ai enchaîné festival sur festival et à chaque fois que “mon petit Sefa” était présent, vous pouvez être sûr que j’étais dans la foule.
Je trouve que ce DJ a révolutionné le Frenchcore en apportant un style nouveau, rythmé de kicks puissants qui me prennent vraiment aux tripes.
Cette musique je l’ai entendue pour la 1ère fois au Defqon.1 2019 (One Tribe) et j’ai depuis attendu sa sortie patiemment. Vous pouvez être sûrs que le soir où Sefa a publié cette fameuse track (en partenariat avec Relianze) sur YouTube, j’étais dans tous mes états et l’ai écoutée à plusieurs reprises !..
Cette chanson est un savant mélange de rock/métal (Evanescence) et de Frenchcore où l’on retrouve clairement la signature de l’artiste.
À chaque écoute, elle me replonge en festival, en ressentant toute l’énergie et le coeur que les DJs ont mis en oeuvre pour sa réalisation… et en cette période difficile, elle me fait retrouver le sourire. »

(EN) “I first discovered this wonderkid at the festival Masters of Hardcore 2017 (The Skull of Dynasty) and I have never E-VER left him since! I went to one festival after another and each time “my little Sefa” was there, you can bet I was right there in the crowd. I personally think that this DJ has brought about a revolution in the Frenchcore world by developing a new style, paced with powerful kicks which shake me to my heart and soul.
I heard this music for the first time at Defqon 1 2019 (One Tribe) and I have been waiting patiently for the release ever since. As you can imagine, the night Sefa published the long-awaited track (in partnership with Relianze) on YouTube, I was all over the place and I listened to it again and again!
This track is a skillful mix between rock/metal (Evanescence) and Frenchcore in which you can definitely spot the artist’s hallmark.
Every time I listen to it, it takes me back to festivals, and I feel all the energy and heart that the DJs poured into it… and during this difficult period of time, it makes me smile again.”

Inbleed – The New Plague

(FR) « Fan de métal depuis mon adolescence, je me suis toujours dit qu’il existait une passerelle naturelle entre le métal et le Hardcore/Frenchcore. C’est l’une des raisons pour lesquelles j’affectionne particulièrement les titres qui reprennent les grands classiques de métal (Nothing Else Matters, Toxicity, Down With The Sickness et j’en passe). Mais cela faisait longtemps que je me demandais que ce que donnerait un titre original où les deux styles s’entremêlent. Mon vœu a été exaucé !
Dans leur tout nouvel album « Ashes of the Falling Empire », c’est le titre The New Plague d’Inbleed qui a retenu mon attention car pour moi tous les ingrédients d’un bon titre y sont réunis.
Côté métal, nous avons des paroles à la fois chantées (afin pour pouvoir s’égosiller en chœur avec le chanteur), mais aussi murmurées pour un côté un peu plus effrayant et inquiétant et enfin hurlées d’une voix bien grave et puissante. Et bien évidemment, en anglais ! Côté Frenchcore, les kicks sont puissants et énergiques ; ils donnent envie de se défouler sur le dancefloor.
Aucun des deux styles n’empiètent sur l’autre, les deux s’accordent et se complètent de manière harmonieuse. J’ai hâte de pouvoir retourner en soirée pour voir ce qu’Inbleed donne en live ! »

(EN) “I’ve been a heavy metal fan since my teenage years, and I’ve always believed that there was a natural bridge between metal and Hardcore/Frenchcore. That’s one of the reasons why I’m especially keen on tracks that use as a base classical metal songs (such as Nothing Else Matters, Toxicity, Down With The Sickness, among others). But I had been wondering for a while now what would happen if an original track were to be released with the two styles intertwining. Well, wish granted!
In Inbleed’s brand new album “Ashes of the Falling Empire”, The New Plague particularly caught my attention because I believe it has all the ingredients of a good track.
On the one hand, we have metal. The lyrics are sung (in order to lose your voice while singing along with the singer), but also whispered for a spooky creepy atmosphere and of course yelled with a deep powerful voice. And obviously, the lyrics are in English (thank you very much!). On the other hand we have Frenchcore, with powerful energetic kicks that makes you want to unwind in the middle of the dancefloor.
None of the two music styles impinges on the other, the two just tune in and complete the other harmoniously. I cannot wait to go back to events to listen to Inbleed live and check out what they are made of!”
